Dog walk to be held Saturday

The Fairview Park Friends Committee is hosting “Paws around the Park,”

a dog walk, on Saturday as a fund-raiser for the preservation of the

park. It will also serve as a way to get the community acquainted with

the park.

The event will feature a one-mile short and two-mile long walk around

the park. The registration fee is $20 per walker. The first 200

registrants will receive an event dog tag, bandannaand a doggie bag.

There will also be a dog costume contest at 8:30 a.m. Registration

will begin at 8 a.m. Prizes will be awarded to costume contest winners

and to the participant who raises the most sponsor money. The walk will

begin at 9 a.m., and registration will start at 8 a.m.
