The Friends of the Newport Beach Library will have a members-only used

book sale from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday and a public sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Saturday. It’s easy to join the Friends of the Library; there are

applications available at the door. At the members-only sale, hardcover

books are priced at two for $1 and paperbacks at six for $1. At the

public sale, books go for $1 a bag. All proceeds from the sale will go to

the library system. The book sale is at the Newport Beach Central
