nominations for citizens and organizations who have made outstanding

The newly formed Friends of the Shipley Nature Center invites new

The American Association of University Women, Huntington Beach branch
is holding an authors luncheon and silent auction. The guest author and
comedian will be Dan Barton. The event is on Saturday May 18 at 11 a.m.
in the Mandarin Restaurant, 18420 Brookhurst St. in Fountain Valley.
Proceeds will benefit the group’s nonprofit educational foundation. The
cost of $30.
Everyone is invited to the 2002 Police Appreciation Day Open House.
Activities include tours of the police facilities, displays from the
Helicopter, K-9, Traffic, SWAT Team and Beach Detail. Children can get
fingerprinted as well as meet McGruff the crime dog and Officer Surf, the
