Costa Mesa radio station creates women’s program

Costa Mesa Christian radio station K-Brite-AM (740) has created a new

women’s program, “Heart of a Woman,” and hired Leanne Ely-Sommers, the

author of two books, to host it. Ely-Sommers will be the only local woman

to host a live, daily Christian talk program in Southern California. The

program will run from 2 to 3 p.m.

“We have always believe that this specific, yet rather broad

demographic, the Christian woman, whether 25 to 65 years old, has been

continuously neglected,” said Don Crawford Jr., the station’s general

manager, in a prepared statement. “Too many stations and their programs

play it safe, insist on being inclusive and create general, lowest common

denominator programming; the goal at all times being to have the largest

audience possible.”
