Son wants to tell mom how special she is

o7 moth*er (muth’er) n. 1. A female parent. 2. To care for like a

mother; nourish and protect.

f7 Hmmm? That sounds very much like my mother, but there is more to

my mother than that. Her attitude toward life, toward me (I am 14), and

my little brother, who is 10. She pulls off being our mother about as

close to perfection as it gets.

There are many reasons I think my mom is so great. When I wake up in

the morning, she’ll ask, with a big smile on her face, if I want

pancakes. If I’m at home on a weekend, she’ll offer to take my friends

and I to a skate park, or a movie, or something else fun. Last year,

during one of our weeks off, she took my brother and I to Hawaii for the

first time. It was a lot of fun.

It’s more than just travels and treats that make her great. Things

beyond words, like the feeling of comfort I get when she is around or the

advice she gives me. When I get home from somewhere, she tells me that

she was worried -- little things like that. Things that show me she loves

me and that she cares. These are the things that make my mom so great and

some of the many reasons that I love my mom so much.
