Maddox’s grand slam leads Astros

A tight battle between the Astros and Indians came down to one hit,

and it came off the bat of Jordan Maddox.

Maddox belted a grand slam home run in the bottom of the fifth inning

and his hit proved to be the difference, as the Astros went on to claim

an 8-4 victory in Majors Division play at Ocean View Little League.

It was the second win in the past week for the Astros, who also

defeated the Mariners, 4-1.

The Indians earned a split in their games played this week by edging

the A’s.

Garrett Shin pitched five strong innings and Brian Cassidy and James

Miller closed on the mound to preserve the Indians’ victory.

Blake Cestr hit a pair of doubles to pace the Indians on offense.
