Laguna Beach-based law firm Levin & Hawes has added Steve T. Tsai to

its litigation department. Tsai, a seven-year litigation veteran, has

chaired bench trials, jury trials and arbitrations. He also has

prosecuted and defended trademark, trade secret, patent, copyright,

unfair competition and commercial actions. Tsai holds a bachelor’s degree

in physics and German from Grinnell College in Iowa and a master’s degree

in German literature from UCLA. He earned his law degree at the Golden

Gate University School of Law in San Francisco in 1994. During law school, he interned for the Hon. Ronald M. Whyte, U.S. District Court,

Northern District of California in San Jose. Tsai is a member of the

California State Bar and the Orange County Patent Law Assn. He resides in

Rancho Santa Margarita with his wife, Helen. . . . Rachel B. Globus a

Dartmouth senior from Laguna Beach has been recognized for outstanding

achievement during the winter term of 2002. Globus, the daughter of Maria

and Gordon Globus was cited for outstanding work in religion. . . The

Orange County Council of the Boy Scouts of America recently recognized

Laguna Beach resident Chuck Hirsch for 65 years of membership. As a

volunteer he has held many positions with the Orange County Council since

1961, including on the National Eagle Scout Assn. Chapter 39 executive

committee, as district commissioner and assistant scoutmaster for Troop

35 in Laguna Beach. He joined Boy Scout Troop 11 in 1934 in New Rochelle,

NY.
