WEDNESDAY

South Coast Medical Center will host a prostate cancer support group

that provides support services to men with prostate cancer. The group

meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m. every 3rd Wednesday starting May 15 in the

SATURDAY

The Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach is proud to host the Art of

Giving Gala, an evening of dinner, dancing and live and silent auctions.

The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m., May 18 at Nikken, Inc., 52 Discovery

at the 133 and the 5 freeways in Irvine. Tickets: $125 per person or $200

per couple for the full event; and $250 raffle tickets for a new BMW.

In conjunction with the Art of Giving Gala, there will be a “Bids For

Kids” Cocktail Reception,” 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., May 18. The event will

feature a hosted bar, hors d’oeuvres donated by SMG’s The Grove of

Anaheim, silent auction, and live music by Imago. Tickets are $50.

MONDAY

The City of Laguna Beach in conjunction with South Coast Medical

Center and the County of Orange Preventive Health Care for the Aging will

host a Senior Health Fair. The event will take place from 8 to 11 a.m.,

South Coast Medical Center will host a cancer support group for

family, friends and caretakers. The group meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m., the

MAY 24

The South Coast YMCA is celebrating National Older Adult Day with a

health fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., May 24. Events will include a variety

of free health screenings, health information, giveaways and free

functional fitness testing for adults 60 and older. The event will take

MAY 27

Laguna Beach American Legion Post 222 along with the Veterans of

Foreign Wars Post 5868 will be holding the annual Memorial Day Service.

The ceremony will start at 10:30 a.m. with a patriotic concert by the

Laguna Beach High School Band, followed by the formal ceremony. The short

program will conclude at noon with the raising of the Flag to full staff.

The event will take place on Memorial Day, May 27 at Monument Point in

The South Coast YMCA is hosting a lecture by Hoag Hospital at 6 p.m.,

May 29. Find out what potential risks exist and how to help prevent them.

The Laguna Beach Women’s Club will honor Pauline Walpin with the Woman

of the Year Award. The annual luncheon will begin at 11 a.m., June 7 at
