WEATHER FORECAST
This is going to be a weird one. The day will kick off with a morning
marine layer along the coast and will clear this afternoon. Highs will
top out in the mid-70s in Costa Mesa and the upper 60s in Newport Beach.
But then, this evening, the clouds will roll in and threaten to drop
showers on Newport-Mesa. Threaten is the key word, though. Overnight lows
will stay somewhat warm at about 60.
Friday so far is looking a bit muggy, with early morning showers
expected but only slightly cooler highs. The weekend, though, looks
sunny, though even cooler.

BOATING FORECAST
Fog will be found both early and late today.
The westerly winds will blow their typical 10 to 15 knots in the inner
waters today, with 2-foot waves, and a mixed south and west swell of 3
feet.
Out farther, much of the same should be encountered, though the
northwest swell will be larger at 6 to 8 feet. It’ll build slightly by
evening.
SURF
Today’s the day to hit the waves, which are expected in the chest-high
range. They’re slated to build even larger Friday, with some head-high
sets.
