Toy Boat, Toy Boat, Toy Boat opened its third Newport Beach store in
the new Newport Coast Shopping Center, to follow Pavilions as the second
tenant. Toy Boat carries classic toys for boys and girls, as well as
current popular toys. There are books, sports balls, beach toys, games,
puzzles, tricycles, wagons, dolls, gifts and more. To make life easier,
they offer free gift wrapping and free assembly for tricycles and wagons.
The original store, the Toy Shop, has been in the area for 40 years. In
1995, owners Diane and Gary Naumann renamed the store Toy Boat, Toy Boat,
Toy Boat after the tongue twister. Newport Coast Shopping Center is at
San Joaquin Hills Road and Newport Coast Drive in Newport Beach. Upon
completion, there will be 26 stores, services and casual dining
restaurants. (949) 759-8697.

boutique has its own PureSalons with licensed cosmetologists and
aestheticians who specialize in hair care, including color, cuts and

The latest theme in bedding is the surf motif and, according to
Strouds, Dean Miller’s Surf Bedding is its best seller. Dean Miller
Hawaiian Island prints specializes in Hawaiian home furnishings, and the
bedding patterns range from Hawaiian hibiscus, surfboard designs, dancing
hula girls, tiki statues and woody cars. There are comforter covers,
throw blankets and pillows. The line was created by Doug C. Smith, who
started the company in a spare bedroom of his apartment on $10,000. “It’s
the perfect accent to your beach lifestyle,” says Doug C. Smith. “We
looked at the industry, and everything was so bland and similar. We just
wanted to add a little fun and bring some island accents into the home.
It just congers up warm visions of beautiful islands and tropical
paradises.” Strouds is in the Costa Mesa Courtyards at 1835 Newport Blvd.
