Women’s Club

The Laguna Beach Women’s Club will honor Pauline Walpin with the Woman

of the Year Award. The annual luncheon will begin at 11 a.m., June 7 at

286 St. Ann’s Drive. New board members will also be installed. The cost

is $15 per person for prepaid reservations and members made no later than

Friday, May 31. At the door and without reservations, the cost is $17.

Compost pick up

The City of Laguna Beach will hold a free compost pick up for

residents to use in their yards and gardens. The pick up will take place

from 8 a.m. to noon, June 8 at the city parking lot at Broadway and

Forest Avenue across the Festival of the Arts. Residents are advised to

bring shovels, plastic trash bags or old trash containers. Information:

YMCA

The South Coast YMCA will host a course that provides scientific

information for the implementation of fitness programs for individuals

who suffer from a loss of bone density. The class takes place from noon

to 6 p.m., June 8 at 29831 Crown Valley Parkway, Laguna Niguel.

Celebrating Life

The Celebrating Life Center will host “Seeing Yourself,” a body image

support group. Becky Prelitz will facilitate the group from 5 to 6 p.m.,

Exchange Club

The Exchange Club will present Father Chuck Maier who will give a

talk, “From Old Laguna to Old Jerusalem.” Maier is a lifelong resident of

Laguna Beach and has been a member of the Exchange Club since 1973. The

luncheon will start at 12:15 p.m., June 20 at Hotel Laguna, 425 South

United Methodist

The United Methodist Church will hold the Scriptures on the Sand that

focus on the book “Why Christianity Must Change or Die” by Bishop Shelby

South Coast Medical Center hosts a breast cancer support group. The

group meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m. the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month in
