The Orange County Transportation Authority expanded bus service as

part of its annual June service change.

Improvements include increasing frequency of service to reduce bus

overcrowding and wait times at bus stops and to improve coverage,

connections and efficiency, said Greg Winterbottom, chairman of Transit

Planning and Operations Committee.

The changes went into effect on Sunday.

The affected routes in Huntington Beach are Route 21 from Buena Park

to Huntington Beach and Route 29 from La Habra to Huntington Beach.

Route 21 will be extended from Valley View Street and Caballero

Boulevard in Buena Park to Beach and Manchester boulevards in Buena Park.

The changes will improve transfers with bus routes 25, 26 and 29 and Mass

Transit Authority routes 130 and 460.

Service will be increased on Route 29 by the addition of services on

weekday mornings and afternoons.

June bus books are available at any bus or transit center, city hall

or public library. Riders can also call Customer Information at (714)

636-RIDE or visit www.octa.net.
