Laguna Beach resident James D. Steinmann graduated with 3,000

undergraduate and graduate students from Boston College with a bachelor’s

degree from the College of Arts & Sciences on May 20. . . . Five

fourth-graders from the Community Learning Center -- Oliver Hart, Spencer

Freidenrich, Sam Kaplan, Alex Gromet and Jacob Graham -- recently honored

their teachers, Cheryl Beehan, Gwen Myers and Laia Hansen by cooking them

a gourmet dinner. . . . Helen and Verle Yoder are the new owners of

Laguna Arts, which has been creating custom frames and providing art

supplies to local artists since 1984. Laguna Arts also specializes in

archival conservation framing and has a large selection of art supplies.

. . . Laguna Beach residents Judith Jelinek and Treva Tilden attended the

gala premiere party for the 2002 Philharmonic House of Design. Jelinek

was an active member of the Premiere Night reception and dinner committee

and Tilden is one of the volunteers with the Philharmonic Society who

headed up the House of Design project. . . . The Laguna Beach Business

Club invited Fred Droz, president of the Droz Group, to speak at the

Club’s May breakfast meeting. The subject of his talk was the

implementation of the strategic plan for the Vision Laguna Project. For

the past two years, The Droz Group has assisted the city of Laguna Beach

in overseeing and facilitating the Vision Laguna Process.
