Ocean View downs Cardinals in seven

The Ocean View Little League A’s took Costa Mesa National’s top Minor

A Division team to extra innings Monday at Mile Square Park in Fountain

Valley, then promptly sent the champs packing.

Despite a lack of hits, the A’s used several steals of home plate and

went on to eliminate the Cardinals, 10-6, in seven innings, in an Area 1

first round game.

Ocean View sent the game into extra innings after tying the game at

6-6 in the sixth and final inning.

Andrew Bynam pitched the first four innings for the A’s, and Jonathan

Combest closed on the mound.

Ocean View advances to face the winner of the Fountain Valley No.

1-Costa Mesa American No. 2 game, in a Saturday Area 1 semifinal at 9 a.m. at Mile Square Park.

The one-run victory in Area 2 play at Costa Mesa American Little

League moves Ocean View No. 1 into Saturday’s semifinal round. Ocean View

will meet either Seaview No. 1 or Westminster No. 2 in a 9 a.m. showdown.
