Auditions on Saturday for Pacific Chorale

Pacific Chorale will hold auditions Saturday and July 6 for the

Pacific Chorale Children’s Choruses’ 2002-03 season.

Appointments are necessary. Auditions will be held from 10 a.m. to 2

p.m. on both days at the Calvary Church of Santa Ana, 1010 N. Tustin

Ave., Santa Ana. No preparation or experience is necessary. Children

between 8 and 17 are welcome.

The season will include performances at the Pacific International

Children’s Choir Festival in Oregon and an annual spring concert.

Shaggy, is that you?

Attention Laguna Beach Dairy Queen fans:

The franchise has announced a “Scooby-Doo” contest for the best Shaggy

Look-alike. Two grand prizes and 10 first prizes will be given. The top

two winners will get a frozen cake designed in “Scooby-Doo” fashion at a

private screening of the movie, where they can invite 20 friends.

The first-prize winners will get the “Scooby-Doo” movie soundtrack.

Chorale concert season to include “Baroque Feast”

The Pacific Chorale recently announced its 2002-03 concert season,

which begins in October with the John Alexander Singers performing “A

Baroque Feast” as part of the Philharmonic Society’s Eclectic Orange

Festival and as part of the Chorale’s Center Series.

The 160-person Pacific Chorale will perform works by Schubert and

Mozart on Nov. 17 at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. The annual

holiday concert “Tis the Season” will happen Dec. 15 at the Center and

the Chorale’s performance of Dvorak’s Stabat Mater will take place March

30 at the Center.

Three non-Center performances will include a Nov. 9 show at St. Paul’s

Greek Orthodox Church in Irvine, “Of Love and Nature” at the Irvine

Barclay Theatre on March 2 and “Cathedral Echoes” May 18 at a venue that

has yet to be announced.
