El Morro holds reading event
El Morro Elementary School held its third Reading is Fundamental
celebration with the theme “Dive Into Reading.”
Children dressed in Hawaiian attire and listened to surf music,
bounced in the MoonJump and rode the giant slide.
There was face painting by Sunny Taylor and Claire McClung.
The event ended in a book distribution with students sifting through
hundreds of books to find one to keep for free.
The event was coordinated by Sunny Taylor of Reading is Fun and El
Morro librarian Claudia Cameron. Richard Miller of Wild Oats donated
fruit. Also helping out were Lindy Foyer, Katie Haven, Anya Yeager, Jill
Doran, Erin Capobianco and Ann Hampton.
