It’s not too late to attend the Summer Food and Wine Festival at South

Coast Plaza from 6 to 9 p.m. today. The popular annual event benefits

Second Harvest Food Bank and Someone Cares Soup Kitchen. The event

features cuisine from South Coast Plaza and Village restaurants,

including Antonello Ristorante, Blue Water Grill, Gustav Anders, Morton’s

of Chicago The Steakhouse, Royal Khyber, Wolfgang Puck and Z’Tejas

Southwestern Grill, to name a few. There are also premium wineries and

breweries offering samplings. Live music is from Zoot Suit Revue. There

will also be an opportunity drawing to win a year of dining at South

Coast Plaza (dinner for two, once a month for a year); a $500 South Coast

Plaza gift certificate, and a kitchen appliance from the Macy’s Home

Store. Opportunity ticket donations are $5 each, five for $20, and 30 for

$100. The cost of the event is $50 per person at the door. Proceeds go

toward the county’s needy through Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange

County and Someone Cares Soup Kitchen in Costa Mesa. The two

organizations assist 400,000 men, women and children in Orange County.

The Daily Grill at Fashion Island has completed a major remodel and

has revamped its menu. It’s open for lunch and dinner daily, breakfast on

Classics,” such as chicken pot pie, New York strip steak sandwich,
