Joey Benedetti of Huntington Beach held off a pair of contenders in a

hotly contested match last weekend to win the Boys’ Division of the

Southern California Professional Golf Assn.’s Foundation Toyota Tour Cup

The first event was held at Cottonwood at Rancho San Diego in El

Cajon.

His score edged Aaron Davis of Palm Desert and Eric Rowson of Poway,

each of whom tied for second place by shooting a 141.

The Boys’ Division was open to players ages 12-18.

Benedetti has been invited to compete in the Toyota Tour Cup

Championships at the PGA of Southern California Golf Club at Oak Valley.

The event will be held the weekend of Sept. 14-15.
