Tars defeat CdM

The Newport Harbor boys water polo club team defeated Corona del

Mar, 15-12, in the first game of the Tustin summer league Wednesday at

Tustin High.

Corona del Mar led, 8-7, at halftime, but Newport Harbor rebounded in

the second half to score eight goals to CdM’s four. CdM’s record falls to

12-5.CdM’s Artie Dorr scored a game-high eight goals, followed by John

Money with two. Kevin Amendt and Griffin Gentry each added one goal

apiece.

Gentry and Ryan Moore had assists as Tom Harper and Nadim Hakim made

one steal apiece in the match.

Newport Harbor outshot CdM, 32-26, but no other statistics were

available.

CdM goalies Beau Stockstill and Tyler Brundage made six and four

saves, respectively.
