Food donations earns free fair entrance

The 110th annual 2002 Orange County Fair is offering much more than

the usual exhibits, foods, rides, games and entertainment; it’s also

offering complimentary entrance for one day only.

With a donation of five or more canned food items, same-day admission

into the fair will be free from noon to 5 p.m. July 22.

All donations will be collected by the Second Harvest Food Bank of

Orange County to benefit the largest hunger-relief organization in the

county.

The items will be distributed to more than 380 local charities focused

on feeding the needing.

As well as helping hungry children, seniors and families, the fair

offers nightly concerts at the latimes.com Theater, petting zoos and

thrill rides.
