Four locals up for Entrepreneur of the Year

Four Huntington Beach businessman have been honored for their hard

work and entrepreneurial spirit.

Jeremiah H. Hennessey and Paul A. Motenko, co-CEO’s of Huntington

Beach based Chicago Pizza and Brewery, Inc. were recently nominated for

the Entrepreneur of the Year award in California.

Chicago Pizza and Brewery, Inc. owns and operates a total of 26

restaurants including BJ’s Restaurant and Brewery. They started off their

business with only five restaurants.

If they are named Entrepreneur of the Year in California they will be

eligible for the National Entrepreneur of the Year award. Winners will be

announced in November. The winner of the national award will then go on

to compete in the World Entrepreneur of the Year awards in Monte Carlo.

The Orange County Business Journal nominated Paul Makarechian, owner

of Huntington Beach based Makar Properties, LLC for the Excellence In

Entrepreneurship Awards earlier this year.

Doug Cavanuagh of the Ruby Restaurant Group, which is also based in

Huntington Beach, was nominated by the Orange County Business Journal for

an Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award.
