Huge variety of items at new furniture showroom; lunch options

Furnishings Direct has moved to a new showroom at 1959 Harbor

Blvd., Costa Mesa. The home furnishings store prides itself on its

quality furniture and great prices. The furniture selection seems

endless. Inside the showroom, you can look at more than 125 pieces,

including armoires, beds, benches, book cases, chairs,

chests/dressers, coat racks, coffee tables, consoles, curios, desks,

dining tables, entertainment centers, mirrors, night stands, plant

stands, rocking chairs, sofas and sofa tables. There are more than 25

sofa styles to choose from and more than 200 fabrics. A lot of the

styles are available in sleepers. Styles vary at Furnishings Direct

Got food?

Fashion Island is adding new restaurants to the lower level of

Atrium Court. It recently opened Cento & Fanti Brick Oven Pizzeria &

Bakery known for its authentic Italian dishes, including 15 pastas

and entrees, as well as brick oven pizzas. Philadelphia Grill also

opened. It’s a casual restaurant that serves Philly cheese steak

sandwiches, as well as submarine sandwiches, a variety of grilled

sandwiches and fresh-cut French fries.

Tacone is scheduled to open in November. It will serve freshly

prepared gourmet wraps. Tacone serves some of the world’s most

popular foods in naturally flavored tortillas to create gourmet

wraps, salad wraps and vegetarian and low-fat wraps. Oak Tree Market

will open in early August. It will feature the best of the former

Farmer’s Market including a salad bar, Boar’s Head deli, hot food

counter and fresh sushi bar, as well as a full service bakery and

catering. Also, La Salsa will move across Atrium Court to a much

larger space and will open the new location on Aug. 1.

Neiman Marcus has great makeup events this weekend. It’s having a

summer trend event through Sunday in the cosmetics department. If you

make a $75 purchase, you can leave with a bag filled with an

assortment of the latest in beauty and skin care. Cosmetics is at

level one. And through Saturday you can get a facial and makeover

If you’re looking for a new watch, you’ll definitely want to go to

carries painted white furnishings and decorator items to lighten up

your home. Garys Home carries frames, plates, linens and art in

tropical Hawaiian themes. Longs Drugs carries a lot of nautical theme

home accessories for a beachy look. Shabby Chic has a nice selection

of summer color linens including pink parfait, mint julep and white

whisper that look great with its regular line of poplin floral

prints. There’s also a large selection of candles, mirrors and other

accessories ideal for summer decorating. For summer dining

accessories, there’s Cottura. It has the biggest selection of

Renaissance-inspired, hand-painted Italian ceramic art in the
