NHBA winter signups begin

Newport Harbor Baseball Association is accepting registration

forms for its 2002 winter baseball season, which runs from

mid-September through mid-November.

Children from Costa Mesa and Newport Beach can apply and new

players are welcome for the 9- and 10-year-old Mustang division, the

11- and 12-year-old Bronco division and the 13- and 14-year-old Pony division. Ages of players are as of July 31, 2003.

The cost is $65. Registration forms can be downloaded from

www.newportbaseball.org or picked up at Sports World, 270 E. 17th

Street in Costa Mesa or Big 5 Sporting Goods at 2324 Harbor Blvd. in

Costa Mesa.

All games are played Sunday with one practice a week. Home games

are played in the Newport-Mesa area and away games are played in

other Orange County cities.
