Unarmed men rob bank

Three unarmed men stormed into a Washington Mutual bank in

Huntington Beach last week and made off with an unknown amount of

money.

Last Friday, three men who appeared to be in their twenties,

entered the Washington Mutual on Edinger Avenue and took over using

nothing more than verbal intimidation, said Huntington Beach Police

Sgt. Gary Meza.

The men were not wearing masks and did not appear to be to

concerned about people seeing what they looked liked, Meza added.

One of the men ordered everyone to stay where they were, while the

other two went behind the counters and took money from the bank

tellers, Meza said.

The men the fled in a dark colored sport utility vehicle,

witnesses said.

A maroon Chevrolet Suburban was found 200 to 300 hundreds yards

away from the bank. Police found a small amount of money in the car,

but suspect that it is only a portion of what the men took from the

bank, Meza said.

The suburban had been reported stolen in South Gate.

Police believe that the men stole the car to commit the robbery

and then dumped it and got into another car, which they used to make

their escape.

No one was injured during the robbery and police are still

investigating.
