SPEED

Taking a fairly timely lunch, 12:30 p.m. to be exact, the usual

anticipation of having to face a hungry and hurried lunch crowd

proved unnecessary. Why? The restaurant was empty. So, in not having

to compete with the massive lunch orders from all the other customers

looking to get in and out, you too can simply place your order and be

assured that your wait will be no longer than it takes to make your

meal. And that’s pretty fast.

SERVICE

While you wait for the New York-style Italian cuisine you ordered

to arrive, a tasty basket of seasoned bread will surely keep your

belly occupied. Worried about your drink service? Well don’t because

your thirst won’t even have a chance to resurface as the server

manages to re-fill your drink before you can ever see the bottom of

your glass. And the attentive, yet not disruptive, behavior of the

server simply enhances the lunching experience while also providing

you with the perfect amount of privacy.

VERDICT

While the restaurant doesn’t provide the most economical answer to

your everyday lunch spot, it does provide a lovely treat for your

busy and stressful work week. The lasagna, $9.95 for a fairly large

serving, was a little pricey but well-worth it. The great taste and

colorful ambience re-defined the typical work lunch atmosphere

providing a great break from the monotony of the work day.

After a delicious and filling lunch of lasagna and cheese bread,

you’ll be more than ready to re-enter the workplace, refreshed,

relaxed and rejuvenated.

If you’re looking for a quick, yet slightly more elaborate lunch

atmosphere than what your used to stop by Soprano’s and enjoy the

experience.

Soprano’s is at 2400 Newport Blvd. in Costa Mesa. (949) 645-8515.
