School board contributions reports coming in slowly
Campaign disclosure reports from Newport-Mesa Unified School
District board hopefuls have been trickling in since Tuesday’s filing
deadline.
Candidates must file with the county but also have the option of
filing with the district.
As of press time, only incumbents Martha Fluor and Judy Franco had
filed with the district. Both have reelection committees, but neither
have any contributions to report from this year. Franco currently has
$114.51 in the bank, while Fluor has $436.15.
Although the filing deadline for the reports was Tuesday,
candidates are legally allowed to mail them to the county on Tuesday
and still be considered on time, said Christina Avila, a
representative with the Orange County registrar of voters office.
