LAGUNA SOUTH COAST CINEMAS

The Laguna South Coast Cinemas will present “Sordid Lives,” a film

about a family in a small Texas town preparing for the funeral of the

mother. The movie will show at 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday as part of

the Weekend Foreign & Indie Film Series. Ticket prices are $8 for

FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS

The Festival of Arts will have a Hawaiian cultural day with hula

NATIONAL KIDS DAY

The Laguna Beach Boys and Girls Club will celebrate National

KidsDay. Parents can bring their child down to the Clubs’ booth at

the Sawdust Festival and create a craft such as a magic wand, stained

glass art or tiled picture frame. All craft projects are only $1 from

MUSIC IN THE PARK

The city of Laguna Beach Arts Commission and the Music in the Park

Inc. will present Caravana for the third concert in the Music in the

wineries will present Jazz Attack. Karl Aranjo’s group will perform a

unique blend of jazz, swing and blues from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 650

[seven-degrees] of Sound will present Sylvia St. James, the lead

vocalist from the House of Blues Gospel brunch. The doors open at 6

NO SQUARE THEATRE

The theatre presents “Bugsy Malone.” A cast of 54 youngsters play

Prohibition-era mobsters in this tongue-in-cheek tribute to the 1920s

gangster flick. This pie-flinging, pinstripe-wearing saga culminates

with a non-violent gang war where flying pies take the place of

bullets. The musical will play at 7 p.m. Aug. 16 and 2 p.m. Aug. 17

and 18 at Laguna Beach High School Artists’ Theatre, 625 Park Ave.
