The Daily Pilot photographers spent a lot of time at the Orange

County Fair this year. Going in, going out, eating food that was too

sweet, too deep fried and too messy. Wandering and wandering looking

for stuff. It was a daily grind, but it’s kind of sad to see it go. I

will miss looking at all the action. For this photo, it was the

cowboy hats that got my attention. These were the only cowboy hats I

think I saw at the fair, except for on rodeo day. It was too cute,

the little cowboy hat. I only hoped the little cowboy kept walking

hand-in-hand with dad until I could get a clean picture. For a

second, the crowd parted and I got the shot. -- Don Leach
