BIBLE 101

The Rev. Jim Turrell will teach about the structure and

composition of the Bible for four weeks at 7 p.m. Wednesdays at the

Center for Spiritual Discovery, 2850 Mesa Verde Drive East, Costa

Mesa. “About the Bible; Jesus, Joseph & Paul” will be the focus of

MEDITATION CLASSES

The Rev. Kathleen Scott will teach about meditation for two more

weeks at 7 p.m. Thursday and Aug. 29 at the Center for Spiritual

SPAGHETTI AND THE RAT PACK

The Center for Spiritual Discovery will present a Spaghetti Dinner

and Rat Pack Show, featuring the music of Dean Martin, Tom Jones,

Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. by an impressionist, at 6:30 p.m.

Aug. 25 at 2850 East Mesa Verde Drive, Costa Mesa. Guests should

bring a pint of spaghetti sauce. $15 or $7, children younger than 6

A SPIRITUAL JOURNEY

A 26-lesson study on the life of Jesus Christ titled ‘’Journey to

the Cross’’ is taught at 9:45 a.m. Sundays during the Homebuilder’s

Bible Class at Liberty Baptist Church. The study parallels the four

The Adult Faith Formation at Our Lady Queen of Angels Church in

Newport Beach will hold a dream analysis group monthly from 1 to 4

MEDITATION LESSONS

A ‘’lectio divina’’ meditation group meeting will be held at 7:10

a.m. Tuesdays at Our Lady Queen of Angels, 2046 Mar Vista Drive,

Newport Beach. Lectio is a style of meditation that includes using

Scripture or a special reading as a stimulus. Free. The Christian

Meditation Group meets from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on the first and third

periods of meditation with some instruction on how to meditate, a

FOR OLDER WOMEN

The Jewish Family Service will offer a support group for women

older than 50 to address issues including anxiety and other topics,
