Helicopter protection is a blessing, not a concern
As I read the Daily Pilot every morning and catch up on the
helicopter discussion, I think to myself -- this is crazy. Here,
readers are complaining about our police taking the extra step to
provide safety and protection to our neighborhoods and the
surrounding area.
Think about the people in other, not so fortunate, areas who hear
gunshots, screams or explosions at night. If the helicopter noise is
one of your major concerns, you should be delighted because in
today’s world people have more serious things to worry about -- war,
illness, national safety, etc. Please look at yourselves and think
about how fortunate you are to live in a beautiful, safe and
protected area.
If it truly irritates you this much -- buy earplugs, wear a radio
and headphones to bed, insulate your own home or move further away
from the protection -- if you can afford to live in this area, you
can afford to live somewhere where safety and protection isn’t
enough.
Honestly, worry about our country at war, health and safety, but
“don’t sweat the small stuff.”
God bless.

Huntington beaches don’t quite make the grade
Regarding “Huntington’s beaches earn a clean grade, UCI study
says” (Saturday), the headline is quite misleading. If you will look
at the Los Angeles Times on the same day in the California section,
you will see exactly the opposite. Under Orange County beaches,
“Huntington Beach at Magnolia” receives an “F” grade (as it has been
all summer) and “Huntington Beach 800 yards south of the Pier” gets a
“B,” the only ratings below an A of all the listed Orange County
beaches.
Are these really “clean” grades?
