Festival to hold annual auction

The Sawdust Festival’s 16th annual Art Auction

Starting from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday the Sawdust Festival will host

its 16th annual art auction to celebrate the last week of the

festival doors being open.

The live auction gives art enthusiasts the opportunity to purchase

original art. It also benefits the Sawdust Benevolence Fund, which

provides financial help to Sawdust artists who have suffered from

illness or other catastrophic events.

About 90 of the Sawdust artists have contributed artwork to be

auctioned according to Sawdust artist Mike Heintz.

The Missiles of October will be performing during the closing week

of the Festival. The rock and blues band will perform from 5:30 to

9:30 p.m. on Aug. 31.
