Big Ben

Big Ben, a 2-year-old Russian Blue look-alike, is an overall great

cat and the perfect addition to an adult home. Also in need of a home

is Samantha, an 11-year-old tortoiseshell female, who, like most

adult cats, often gets overlooked for the kittens, said DiAnna

Pfaff-Martin, founder of the Community Animal Network in Newport

Beach.

And three more kittens, all a Siamese mixes, will also be up for

adoption this weekend.

However, adopting adult cats saves lives, Pfaff-Martin said. And

adult cats tend to be much more “house friendly,” she said.

“Kittens are often returned for being too active,” Pfaff-Martin

said. “If you get two kittens, this helps by having another to play

with while you are at school or at work, and they tend to leave your

furnishings alone.”

See other animals available for adoption at www.animalnetwork.org

or stop by Russo’s pet store at Fashion Island between noon and 4

p.m. on weekends.
