Village Inn hears more nays than yeas
Absolutely, the city or whomever it is that governs entertainment
in Newport Beach should approve additions to the Village Inn’s live
music lineup. We are alive and breathing, and one of our basic needs
is entertainment. There is so little of it available for those of us
in Newport Beach who are over 40 other than the Village Inn -- it is
a treat.
Sorry about the neighbor, but maybe she should start to enjoy the
music instead of fight it?

I am plagued myself by absolute noise that should not be happening
and this absolutely is a residential neighborhood in Balboa and the
addition to the Village Inn to have a music venue in that particular
location is just way out of line. And no, they should not allow this
to happen to these people that live in the immediate area.

In response to the question posed in the Tuesday edition of the
Daily Pilot regarding additions to the live music at the Village Inn,
the answer is a resounding no (“Village Inn, neighbor in legal row
over noise”).
We don’t need any more noise. Balboa Island is a quaint village of
some 1,450 homes and 4,500 residents. People live here because of the
peaceful atmosphere, and visitors enjoy the charm and hospitality of
being on an island close to a metropolitan area.
The Village Inn is way out of sync in wishing to add percussion
instruments to its repertoire of music. The Village Inn can satisfy a
need as a pub and restaurant if it serves good food and drink.
However, loud music does not belong in the midst of a residential
community.
