Huntington Beach Pop Warner Football scrimmages tonight

Pigskins will be in flight tonight as Huntington Beach Pop Warner

Football will play host to several scrimmages at the Edison High

football fields.

Huntington Beach’s 12, division teams will take on opponents from

the Tustin Cobras’ program beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Huntington Beach Pop Warner celebrated festive, opening day

ceremonies last Saturday.

The 2002 season marks the 72nd year of play in Pop Warner

Football.

Division coaches for the upcoming season include the following:

Todd Richards, Midget Green Chargers; John Slaton, Jr. Midget Green

Chargers; John Lopez, Jr. Midget Gold Chargers; Rhett Heckel, Pee Wee

Green Chargers; Chris Halamandaris, Pee Wee Gold Chargers; Richard

Ballesteros, Jr. Pee Wee Green Chargers; Marc Dubois, Jr. Pee Wee

Gold Chargers; Craig Trulli, Jr. Pee Wee White Chargers; Joe Baker,

Mighty Mite Green Chargers; Bill Rommerdahl, Mighty Mite Gold

Chargers, and Rob DeCamp, Cub Green Chargers.

A coach has yet to be named for the Cub Gold Chargers division.

All 12 Huntington Beach Pop Warner Football teams begin their

seasons in earnest on Sat., Sept. 7.

Tourney set at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey

Labor Day weekend at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in

Huntington Beach will feature the “Quest For The Best,” tournament.

Saturday’s schedule of tournament games will feature play in the

following divisions: Adams, Campbell, Howe, Patrick and Smythe.

Divisions playing on Sunday are Lemieux, Norris and Wales.

Games will begin Saturday at 9 a.m.

Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center is at 5555 McFadden Ave.
