SPEED

It’s not of the essence, but speed isn’t the point here. The point

is to get a way from the usual spots, take a leisurely drive off the

beaten path and settle in for some good food. And good it is. It’s

Thai food done pseudo-haute cuisine: The Pad Thai, for instance, was

delicately cooked, with shrimp and pork put together to near

perfection. The spring rolls, too, weren’t those greasy type. They

were crisp and light and just plain good.

SERVICE

Helpful, watchful and not overbearing. Drinks got refiled when

needed, requests for additions here and there were handled cheerfully

and quickly.

THE VERDICT

With its cute decor and quiet, relaxed atmosphere, Thai Touch has

a feel of getting away from the work hustle and bustle. And it’s a

getaway to great food, which is a big plus. Prices are reasonable,

with the main courses running $7 to $9 and typical appetizers in the

$4 to $5 range.
