SAN DIEGO -- Dante Zena headed in a cross from Miguel Ochoa to

pull the Orange Coast College men’s soccer team even, 1-1, in the

83rd minute of a nonconference game Wednesday at San Diego Mesa. But

the Olympians scored five minutes later to claim a 2-1 victory.

Hilario Arriaga made four saves for OCC, as the two teams were

scoreless until the hosts took a lead in the 58th minute.

The winning goal came on a rebound that was not cleared in front

of the OCC goal. Coach Laird Hayes said it was a wide-open shot for

the Olympians.

Orange Coast falls to 1-2, while Mesa is now 1-0.

The Pirates return to action Friday at 4 p.m. at home against El

Camino
