First Team agent supports American troops
First Team Real Estate agent Ann Baker is making headlines for her
“Bless the Troops” campaign, which began earlier this year with a
flag presentation ceremony at First Team’s South Huntington Beach
office.
After sending scores of letters, care-packages and e-mails to
military personnel stationed in Afghanistan, a local Marine returned
home and presented First Team’s South Huntington Beach office with
the flag that flew over the U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan.
“He had come to our office to thank us for our support, for all
the letters during those scary times. I couldn’t believe my ears. He
wanted to thank us? We should be thanking him,” Baker said.
So, she wrote a an award-winning commentary that was published in
a major, metropolitan newspaper. After receiving an overwhelming
response to the article, Baker began a Web site called
www.blessthetroops.org, where people can write letters of thanks to
the troops, share stories or discuss ways that groups can show
appreciation to the United States military personnel.
Since the flag ceremony and the inception of Baker’s campaign, her
story has been featured nationally on “The Rush Limbaugh Show,”
KFWB-AM, KKLA-AM and KABC-AM Talk Radio. It will also appear in
Marine Corps Magazine on September 11 and will be read into the
Congressional Record by U.S. Representative Mark Foley of Florida.
Ann Baker specializes in the communities of Huntington Beach,
Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa, Newport Coast and South Orange County.
