Vanguard will offer weekend softball clinics

The softball team at Vanguard University will conduct two separate

clinics on two Saturdays in September and October.

Clinics will be offered from 8:15 a.m. to noon Sept. 28 and Oct.

12 at the softball field on the campus at 55 Fair Dr. in Costa Mesa.

Each clinic costs $40, but persons can pre-register for $35 or pay

$40 the morning of the clinic. Groups of five or more will be given

$5-discounts and there will also be a discount for attending both

clinics.

Vanguard players will teach fundamental skills such as throwing,

hitting, fielding and base running during the first clinic. The Lions

will focus on more specific skills during the second clinic such as

catching, hitting, advanced fielding and pitching.

Softball coaches encourage players to bring their own bat and

catcher’s gear.
