Bomb threat evacuates bank
A bomb threat at a Costa Mesa bank that caused a brief evacuation
Tuesday afternoon turned out be a hoax, officials said.
The threat originated when a woman overheard two men talking about
“planting a bomb” in the Wells Fargo branch in the 2900 block of
Harbor Boulevard at about 4:55 p.m. Tuesday, Costa Mesa Police Cpl.
Garth Wilson said.
Police officers searched the bank with a dog and found no unusual
devices, he said. Employees and customers were evacuated for about 40
minutes after which normal business resumed, Wilson said.
