Five-year-old Porsche, a spayed Rottweiler, will soon need to find

a new home. After Oct. 11, her family will no longer be able to care

for her and, to avoid sending her to a shelter, they would like to

place her in a happy home as soon as possible, said DiAnna

Pfaff-Martin, founder of the Community Animal Network.

“Our organization really wants to help more dogs, but without dog

lovers coming forward to help foster dogs in their homes, our hands

are tied,” Pfaff-Martin said “The public has been wonderful about

offering housing to cats, but the community is hesitant to allow

unknown dogs into their homes.”

The network has tried to negotiate with local veterinarians for

complimentary and reasonable boarding fees for dogs and cats but has

been unable to raise enough money to support such kennel boarding,

Pfaff-Martin said.
