Elizabeth knows football

It’s too bad there aren’t more parents willing to allow their

girls to play football with the boys. But even if there were,

Elizabeth Eddy’s name would still be a household name to opponents of

the Newport-Mesa Junior All-American Clinic team.

Elizabeth, 11, has been running all over or in between her

opponents so far this season. The rookie ran for 64 yards on just

four carries in her team’s 26-0 rout of a South County team. And it’s

not that the boys are playing nice with her. They just can’t catch

her. She’s quick and she’s for real.

Though she’s making history as the first girl to ever score a

touchdown in the league, she’s no token. In fact, she’s just an

overall athlete. She also plays soccer, water polo, basketball and

roller hockey. At this rate, she’ll be Bo Jackson, who played both

professional baseball and football.

It would seem the sky’s the limit for Elizabeth and we hope no one

would prevent her from reaching it. She’s an inspiration to all.
