Public safety open house set for Sunday
The Newport Beach Police and Fire departments will present a
combined open house Sunday on their Public Safety Day.
Both the police and fire stations on Santa Barbara Drive will be
open to the public for tours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday and will
feature displays from lifeguards, Orange County Sheriff’s Harbor
Patrol and other emergency services agencies.
Live police and fire demonstrations -- featuring real
firefighting, the “jaws of life,” paramedics, the K-9 squad, the SWAT
team and police helicopter -- will begin at noon.
Free parking for the event is available north of the police and
fire stations in the Civic Plaza parking area. Photo opportunities
will be available.
