Neil Holbrook, a distinguished Australian oceanographer, is

working with Orange Coast College students as part of the Visiting

Scholar Program. Holbrook, a prominent researcher and physical

oceanographer, will work with students in marine science, geology and

The Harbor Heritage Run and Fitness Fair will return to Newport

Beach. Hosted by Newport Harbor High School, the event, now in its

16th year, will include a 5K Feature Race, a 2K Fun Run/Walk and a

The City of Newport Beach will mark Fire Prevention Week with an

event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Newport Center Fire Station No.

3. The public safety event will consist of live Fire and SWAT

demonstrations at noon, as well as displays from the Lifeguards,

Harbor Patrol, Red Cross, Orange County Burn Assn., DARE, Crime

Prevention, Animal Control and CERT. Guests will also be allowed to

A blessing of the pets will be held at St. Michael and All Angeles

A program about how the animals of the Upper Newport Bay see,
