New UCI associate vice chancellor arrives Oct. 21

Michael House, UC Irvine’s new associate vice chancellor for

university advancement, will take his post Oct. 21.

House will lead the campus’ development program, including gifts,

gift planning and corporate and foundation relations, as well as

establishing fund-raising goals. House described his new colleagues

in a press release as professional, dedicated and warm, and said he

looks forward to his new position.

House previously served as assistant vice president of the

University of Florida Foundation. He has written several publications

on board development and donor stewardship. He is a member of the

Council for Advancement and Support of Education and has received

awards of merit for his contributions.

Thomas Mitchell, vice chancellor for university advancement, said

in a press release that House brings with him several important

qualifications, including “his broad knowledge base, his successes in

leading a number of major capital initiatives and his ability to

rally a team to meet -- and exceed -- goals.”
