Grocery store to offer

public flu vaccinations

Going to the grocery store could get you more than the usual loaf

of bread and carton of eggs this month at your local Stater Bros.

This month and next, the Stater Bros. on Baker Street in Costa

Mesa will offer public flu vaccinations for people 18 years or older.

Vaccinations will be given by a team from OnSite Wellness Medical on

a first-come, first-served basis.

Types and strains of the influenza virus change every year and

many medical professionals have encouraged vaccinations to keep

families healthy through the winter.

General symptoms include fever, chills, headaches, dry cough,

runny or stuffy nose and muscle aches, experts say.

According to the Center for Disease Control, it is estimated that

more than 40 million Americans develop the flu each year and 100,000

are hospitalized, officials said.

Stater Bros. will offer vaccinations on Oct. 27 and Nov. 3 at

1175-C Baker St. The cost is $17.
