* AIRPORT SECURITY:

“You deserve the right to privacy. You deserve the right to be

left alone.” Cobb said sweeping new security measures in place at

airports are too restrictive. However, Cobb said he supports arming

airline pilots as a way to deter terrorists. Cobb also supports

eliminating other laws that limit gun ownership.

* WAR ON IRAQ:

“I don’t see the imminent threat to the United States. Containment

is a policy that worked against the Soviet Union. It would work

against Iraq.” Cobb said he would oppose the use of military force

against Saddam Hussein’s regime.

EL TORO MARINE CORPS AIR STATION:

Cobb supports the Navy’s decision to auction off the El Toro

Marine base to the highest bidder. “That’s what the Navy should have

done in the first place. Now you have a major pitched political

battle.”

* ELIMINATING INCOME TAX:

“A huge element of government spying on people would disappear. We

have a huge open door for a police state if it wants to come and sit

on us.” Cobb said he opposed Social Security cards, because they

allow the federal government to track an employee’s earnings.

* LEGALIZING DRUGS:

Cobb said the government’s ban on narcotics and marijuana has

caused American society to “cheer on the police state.” He believes

drug abuse is a social problem that has been made worse by the many

crimes committed during the sale and use of them. Legalizing

marijuana and other drugs, Cobb said, would eliminate the killings

and robberies that go along with drug use.
