* Ocean Front: A resident reported hearing noises from a vacant

unit in the 1000 block at 10:42 p.m. Police discovered a transient

taking a shower. The 39-year-old man was arrested on a warrant for

illegal lodging.

* South Coast Highway: An officer found a man walking in the

middle of the highway in the 500 block at 11:34 p.m. When he told the

man to get out of the street, the man crawled on his hands and knees

to the sidewalk where he began pulling plants out of their beds. The

officer arrested him on suspicion of public intoxication.

SATURDAY

* South Coast Highway: A resident called police after he saw a

transient running around an alley without his pants in the 100 block

at 6:35 p.m.

* South Coast Highway: A resident reported two stranded boats off

shore from the 32000 block at 10:49 p.m. He heard a passenger yelling

for help and flashing a light. Harbor Patrol arrived to lend

assistance.

MONDAY

* Crescent Bay Park: Police responded to a call about a woman who

was standing on the cliffs at 12:58 p.m. She was transported to South

Coast Medical Center for a 72-hour mental evaluation.

TUESDAY

* Park Avenue: A resident called police to report he saw two

teenagers driving in a Ford Bronco perform a drive-by-egging in the

600 block at 11:01 a.m. Police were unable to find any suspects.

WEDNESDAY

* North Coast Highway and Cleo Street: Police caught up with a

22-year-old Lake Forest man after witnesses phoned in two hit-and-run

collisions at 7:39 p.m. The first collision occurred on North Coast

Highway and Cliff Drive, when someone drove through a red light and

hit a female driver turning left onto Cliff Drive. He fled the scene

and then reportedly hit a parked vehicle causing major damage. The

suspect was arrested on suspicion of committing two hit-and-run

collisions and on an outstanding warrant for other traffic

violations.
