Swimmer Smith wins three medals

Local swimmer Joshua Smith came up with several big performances

at last weekend’s Golden West Pumpkin Invitational at the Golden West

College pool.

Smith swam to three first places finishes and finished third in a

fourth race, in the boys’ 8-and-under Division competition.

Smith, a student at Grace Lutheran Elementary School in Huntington

Beach, swam a 20.04 to win the 25-yard breaststroke. He won the

25-yard butterfly in a time of 17.20, and took the 100-yard

individual medley with a 1:27.15.

He placed third in a tight, 25-yard backstroke race with at time

of 19.55.

Smith is a member of the Agape Swim Team.
