for boys and young men ages 14 to 18 interested in sailing,

The Newport Beach Newcomers Club meets at 10 a.m. the third

Wednesday of each month, except July and December, at varied

locations. The group, a social organization for people who have lived

in Newport Beach for fewer than five years, meets for events,

The Friends of the Newport Beach Public Library seek book

donations to raise funds for the library system. Books may be left at

any of the three branch libraries, including, Balboa, Mariners or

Corona del Mar. They may also be left in the special book closet next

to the Friends Bookstore at 1000 Avocado Ave. All hardcover and

paperback books are acceptable, with the exception of law books and

The Thursday Morning Women’s Club, a 40-year-old friendship club,

is seeking new members. The club, which includes golf, bridge,

walking and gourmet sections, meets at 11 a.m. on the second Thursday

of every month at the Radisson Hotel in Newport Beach. The luncheon

Interfaith couples with one Jewish partner are invited to

participate in an interfaith couples discussion group hosted by the

Jewish Family Service of Orange County. The group is geared toward

those couples looking to make Judaism and the Jewish community part

of their relationship. The group meets in the evenings in the

agency’s office at 250 E. Baker St., Suite G, Costa Mesa.
