OCC women win easily
The Orange Coast College women’s golf team picked up an
uncontested victory over Orange Empire Conference host Cypress Monday
at the Cypress Golf Club.
Joanne Durocher shot 13-over-par 84 to pace the Pirates (6-5, 5-4
in conference), who needed only to complete the 18 holes without disqualification to collect the win, since Cypress had only three
players, one shy of the minimum.
Marilyn Pope (91), Laura Sumpter (92) and Diane Valoff (105) also
scored for OCC, which hosts conference foes Santiago Canyon, Irvine
Valley and Golden West in a four-way conference clash Monday at 11:30
a.m. at the Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club.
